Estate of Mankind

The Bible refers to man’s rebellious nature in the very first book;

“The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had even made man on the earth, and His heart was filled with pain.”  Genesis 6:5,6

This perspective is carried throughout, on through the New Testament:

“There is none righteous, not even one.” Ro 3:10

“All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.” Is 53:6

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Ro 3:23

“And the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ro 6:23

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Ro 5:10

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” II Pet 3:9

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men.” Tit 2:11

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest.” Eph 2:1-3

“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone come to repentance.” II Pet 3:9
