About the Troy Church of God

Jesus said, ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go and make followers of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Mtt 28:18-20)

When Jesus was asked, "which is the great commandment in the Law?" He said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. And the second is like it, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.’" (Mtt 22:36-40)

Therefore whatever you want others to do for you, do so for them, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Mtt 7:12, Lk 6:31, Mtt 22:40)

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the Law of Christ. (Gal 6:2)

This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (Ja 1:27)

I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will. (Ro 12:1,2)

Troy Church of God

The original Church of God was established in 1881 and has since evolved into a nationwide evangelical ministry of some 3,000 churches, along with many others throughout the world. It is often referred to as the Church of God "Reformation Movement" because of its strong nondenominational policy. Every church within the movement is an autonomous based spiritual unit, yet retains ties with their headquarters in Anderson, Indiana.

It is thought to be a movement, rather than an organization, because the focus is God’s Spirit within the lives of those who sincerely welcome His indwelling; and only He knows who those individuals are.

"The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." A 2:47

Troy Church of God was established in 1980 by Pastor Gene Bushnell and his wife Ruth, on the present site, which was previously the Order of the Moose property. In the beginning the new work met in the blue Moose Hall, which was razed in 1983 when a new worship building was erected by Pastor Gene Bushnell and sons.

Pastor Gene, an ordained minister of the Church of God, has officiated for hundreds of families throughout the area. He feels that God would have him serve the entire area, including those who attend no church, and that God desires the church to reach out to everyone interested in God’s Kingdom.

Troy Church of God uses the New Testament as their standard, revering the Words of Christ as spoken by God Himself through His Son Jesus Christ –who was the exact representation of Himself (Heb 1:3)

God said, "this is my Beloved Son, listen to Him." Mark 9:7
